Louis Vuitton Turns Handbags Into Fine Art With 13-Piece Keith Haring Capsule

Just when we thought the dialogue between Louis Vuitton and Keith Haring was confined to the Cruise runway, the French house has officially confirmed a 13-design Artycapucines capsule collection launching worldwide on January 1, following an exclusive preview at Art Basel Paris on October 23.

The limited-edition lineup turns the iconic Capucines handbag into a canvas for Haring’s most celebrated motifs. Atelier artisans utilized leather marquetry, laser printing, embroidery, and embossing to bring Haring’s energetic lines to life. Standout designs include an evening clutch encrusted with over 12,000 crystals featuring his 1984 Running Heart artwork, and a Capucines BB adorned with swimming dolphins in layered calfskin, ostrich, and karung leather.

Behind the collection sits a physical piece of brand history: a vintage 1930s Louis Vuitton suitcase that Haring personally tagged in black marker back in 1984. Developed in direct partnership with the Keith Haring Foundation and Artestar, official licensing supports AIDS education and youth organizations.
