At Ferragamo’s Spring/Summer 2027 show at Milan Fashion Week, Creative Director Maximilian Davis turned to one of the most radical footwear milestones in fashion history: Salvatore Ferragamo’s 1947 Invisible Sandal. Nearly eighty years after Ferragamo suspended a heel in mid-air using transparent nylon monofilament, Davis used that revolutionary object as the catalyst for an entire collection.
The transparent shoe led Davis into the world of surrealist photography, referencing Man Ray and Lee Miller’s solarization techniques and 1940s wartime elegance. The resulting wardrobe focused heavily on the waistline, defined by double-buckled utilitarian belts, structured blazers, and translucent rubber trench coats.

Reflecting the house’s strong connection to East Asian star power, Thai actress and global style muse Faye Peraya Malisorn commanded the front row. Dressed in a dramatic monochromatic deep-navy tailoring ensemble featuring a sculptural oversized knit jacket and wide-leg fluid trousers contrasted with a chalk-white Ferragamo handbag, Faye embodied the exact synthesis of sharp minimalism and magnetic presence that defined Davis’s vision for the season.
